Lane 13

2.45am in the morning and several street lights were blinking.
The electrical systems along lane 13 were still unrepaired as there was always a heavy downpour in the area.
Ritesh was driving back home on the empty road of Lane 13.
He had a long night with his friends in Rupee Room,celebrating for he just got promoted at work.

2.55am and he still hasn't reached home.
He couldn't hold on to nature's call any longer and so he pulled the car aside.
Since there weren't a sight of anyone nearby,he hurriedly got out of the car and unzipped his jeans.
"Ahhh. At last" he said in relief as he zipped up his jeans.

He turned back and a huge pair of green eyes stared at him and he jumped back in fear.
A black cat stood on it's four paws on top of the car as though ready to pounce on him.
However,all it did was meowed and jumped down from the car in a haste.
There went the mysterious cat running away as fast as it could.
It seemed like something was chasing the poor little black cat away.

"Sheesh ! what the hell was that all about? 3am ! Damn ! I need my sleep !! Urgh! "
Ritesh got back into his car and drove off. He was 20 minutes away from home when he met with an experience no
one would even think of going through.

His BMW travelled on a road which was winding and at a speed of 120km/hr.It was a cause of worry as he could not see
what was coming on the other side at the end of the bend. "Oh shit !" He stepped on his brakes and the car skided,
spinning 3 times before it came to a halt. Ritesh got out of the car ; "i'm so so sorry,are you okayyyyyyy??" He
looked around but found no one. Puzzled, he went back to his car. "The alcohol really does stir up illusions"
However much he tried to pacify himself,he was pretty sure he saw something. Beads of sweat trickld down the sides
of his face. Still gripped with fear,he continued his journey home.

140km/hr.....150km/hr....160km/hr...
His feet left the accelerator.
170km/hr...180km/hr...
He pulled onto the hand brakes but it was to no avail. He couldn't do anything to stop the car. It just kept
travelling faster and faster. Down came crashing onto the front screen of his car with a loud thud,
was a huge...."Jesus!"

The car finally came to a halt. Struggling with his seat belt,he came out of the car. It was a figure of a woman
lying on his bonnet. It was dark and difficult for him to see what exactly it was. A strong stench filled the
thin air and he knew something was wrong. His hands trembled as he reached out to what he thought was a lady.
Slowly, it moved and came face to face with Ritesh. His eyes now bloodshot red.

Thick red blood dripped profusely from her being making a puddle on the road. Her skin like scales of a snake.
She hadn't any eyes. It was as though someone dug them out. Maggots were
feeding onto her face and her veins popping out. His eyes lowered and realised she hadn't any legs. All of a
sudden, that ugly beast led out a screeching scream,splurting out blood from her maggot filled mouth.

Ritesh felt so weak he fell to the ground. He woke up the next morning finding himself in the hospital. His car was
found abandoned on lane 13 without a scratch or any sign of a mishap that could have possibly occured. He could not
do anything about the incident besides pray that he wasn't into any form of trouble with the other side of the world.
This experience definitely still haunts him till today.
