Was it your shadow, Azri ?
It's a norm to see your own shadow while walking on the streets accompanied by lights along the way in the middle of the night.
Like they say, these lights guide you home.
Your shadow accompanies you home.
But if it's not your shadow?
The Muslims believe in Malam Jumaat.
A direct translation of Malam Jumaat would be Thursday Night.
It was unfortunate for Azri to be walking home in the late nights on a Thursday.
He took the last bus home and hurried to his block,10 minutes away from the bus stop.
Azri was a very hardworking young man. Working till late hours was a norm for him.
The other employees would have left the office, but as a manager,he has strong core values
of handling his work well and giving every inch the best of his efforts. >> READ MORE

This happened in 1995. I was staying in a flat in Bishan back then.
It was a rainy, stormy night and it was one of those night that I cant sleep. So I went to the kitchen and make a cup of milo before sitting on the sofa at the living room. I was planning to watch some video tapes.
My younger brother was in primary school and he had this habit of covering himself in his huge blanket from head to toe and waking me up at night to accompany him to go to toilet. From his room he had to walk pass the living room to get to the toilet which was located at the kitchen. >> READ MORE
